Adding a session to your schedule in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in the room. Most sessions are first come, first served, there is no waitlist. On Sched you can add multiple sessions to your schedule that are at the same time. A session that is "POPULAR!" is on many attendee schedules and could be full. If a session requires pre-registration it will indicate this in the description and will provide details for how to pre-register.

Students struggling in mathematical problem solving may be using inefficient counting strategies rather than additive strategies. How do we support them in developing more effective strategies? During this session, we will explore: · a variety of additive strategies

· ways of using manipulatives to develop deeper understanding, and

· strategies for moving from concrete to abstract representations
