Adding a session to your schedule in Sched does not guarantee you a spot in the room. Most sessions are first come, first served, there is no waitlist. On Sched you can add multiple sessions to your schedule that are at the same time. A session that is "POPULAR!" is on many attendee schedules and could be full. If a session requires pre-registration it will indicate this in the description and will provide details for how to pre-register.

Make Writing: Notebooks

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Did you send home writing notebooks empty again last year? I used to do this too, until I figured out why it was happening. Time is limited, and if we’re going to notebook well inside of our writing classrooms, we need to make sure that our notebooks are driving every experience. They can’t be too special. They can’t be something extra, either. If we’re going to make time for notebook keeping, we need to use that time in very meaningful and productive ways. This session will prepare you to do that.
Participants will:
● Examine the fundamental reason why notebooks often go home empty
● Adopt strategies for sustained use
● Explore creative approaches for using the notebook throughout the writing process
● Consider how to provide high quality feedback to notebook keepers
● Develop a plan for effectively assessing notebooks and notebook keepers
